Recently, the Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mr Tang Ping-keung, re-appointed Dr. Eric Choi, Chairman of AMTD Group and Founder and Chairman of AMTD Charitable Foundation, as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Education Trust Fund for Prisoners , starting from December 2022. It will take effect on the 1st and serve a term of three years. This is the second time that Eric Choi has been appointed by the Hong Kong SAR government to serve as a member of this advisory committee after the expiration of this position from January 1, 2019 to November 30, 2022.

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced in the Gazette that Kevin Choi was re-appointed as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee of the Prisoners’ Education Trust Fund

 

The new Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Prisoners’ Education Trust Fund Investment Advisory Committee is composed of 5 members, including Choi Chi-kin. In order to support and assist inmates who are interested in studying but need financial assistance to pay for school fees, the Hong Kong government established the Prisoners’ Education Trust Fund Ordinance, Chapter 467 of the Laws of Hong Kong, in December 1995 The Education Trust Fund aims to provide financial assistance to individual prisoners on their application in their efforts to obtain education and to provide educational facilities to prisoners.
