AMTD Charity | SGX Bull Run receives the largest single donation from AMTD Charity Foundation in recent years

• AMTD Charity Foundation donates S$1 million to SGX Bull Run and Community Chest of Singapore
• The 17th Charity Run will kick off on October 30, and this time the run will be held online

SGX Bull Run is the flagship charity program of Singapore Exchange. This run has received strong support from AMTD Charity Foundation under the special circumstances of high fundraising pressure this year.

AMTD Charity Foundation has donated S$500,000 to SGX Bull Run before the 17th Charity Run. This donation is also the largest donation received by SGX Bull Run in recent years. The funds raised from this year's run will flow through the Community Chest to major charities in Singapore, including Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA), Autism Society Singapore, Flying Leap Community Services, Summit Social Services Association and Charity Shared Services Organization. At the same time, AMTD will donate S$500,000 directly to the Community Chest and work with the Community Chest to select charities and programs that will receive this donation. As a result, the total donation amount generated by AMTD will reach S$1.5 million.

Mr. Calvin Choi, Chairman and CEO of AMTD Group, said: "We are pleased to establish a long-term partnership with SGX and the Community Chest and provide support to the poor and needy in society. During this global pandemic, we deeply understand the importance of directly showing our support and care to those in need in the community. We are very grateful to be able to cooperate with the SGX Bull Run and the Community Chest, so that we can directly show our support to those in need through this online charity run."

Mr. Stephen Chew, Head of SGX Bull Run and Head of SGX Global Business Origination and Development, said: "We are very pleased to receive the strong support of AMTD Charity Foundation. This support has provided great help to our vulnerable groups during this special and difficult period. This year's online charity run will also help the poor and needy. With just over a month to go before the Charity Run officially kicks off, the strong support and participation of AMTD is injecting new energy into our fundraising and we are very grateful for their participation and partnership. ”

Mr Tan Eng Siang, Chairman of the Singapore Community Chest, said, “The Singapore Community Chest is deeply touched by the strong and continuous support provided by SGX and the financial community to those in need through the SGX Bull Charge. We are very grateful to AMTD Charity Foundation for joining us in promoting this extraordinary vision and highlighting the importance of collective efforts to help the underprivileged. This COVID-19 pandemic has brought us together to provide care and assistance to those in the community who need support the most during this difficult time, and I am sure we will emerge stronger together.”
